I began my career in the hair industry late in life.  I had always enjoyed doing my two daughters hair as they were growing up, but never thought I could really pursue it as a career.  Well, in 2007 everything changed when Transformed Barber & Cosmetology school opened.  I attended a meeting at the school and learned that they were offering part-time evening hours.  So in February 2007 at the age of 36, I started my journey in cosmetology school.   It was a long journey, taking me 2 1/2 years to accumulate the required 1500 hours of schooling.  In the spring of 2009 I graduated from Transformed and went on to pass my written and practical examinations. Shortly after that I begin working part-time at Chocolate City hair salon.  I've learned a lot from the different stylist and the owner Janice.  I've since become a state board examiner grading newly graduated cosmetology students during the practical examination.  I still maintain my full-time employment and style hair part-time.  I enjoy the business of hair and I am always looking for new things to do and new ways to do them.  My hopes for the future are to own a small beauty salon and a beauty supply store.
